& Barker Anti-Ox is a specially formulated combination of
antioxidants using contemporary scientific information on reactive

It is one
of natures paradoxes that oxygen is essential to life but certain
complex chemical reactions in the body produce reactive oxygen
compounds called super-oxides that cause cell damage. These
super-oxides are free radicals and are normally controlled by
Anti-Oxidant enzymes produced in a healthy body. Stress and
pollution can often create so many free radicals that they can
overwhelm these productive enzymes. Eyesight deterioration loss
of hearing and inflammatory ailments e.g. arthritis start to
result, and as the pet gets older the body benifits with the
use of antioxidant supplements to boost the body's immune system.

Barker &
Barker Anti-Oxidant is mixed with desiccated liver powder for
palatability and is sold in pots containing 150g of powder,
this product can be easily given it can be sprinkled on to the
dogs food at the rate of one quarter of a level teaspoon full
for a dog or puppy weighing less than five kilo's as an example
all instructions are on the label.

Vitamin
C
Vitamin C could be described as the most important vitamin for
the health of the immune system, having potent antiviral properties.
Probably the most well known of all the AntiOxidants, vitamin
C has been shown to promote the formation of red blood cells,
increase resistance to infection and help keep skin and muscles
firm. It is not apparently possible to get too much of the natural
vitamin C, which flushes toxins out of the body and helps with
stress and exposure to pollutants., both of which use up Vitamin
C so it must be replaced every day as it cannot be stored in
the pets body.
Vitamin
E
An oil based antioxidant, anti clotting agent, which maintains
healthy blood vessels by preventing oxidation of body fat tissues,
destroying free-radicals as they form, considered to slow down
cellular aging and reduced fatigue. Vitamin E is essential as
it is not manufactured by the body , so it becomes especially
useful in protecting the body from free-radical pollutants such
as nitrogen oxide and ozone, which damage lung cells and tissues.
It is understood that vitamin E works more efficiently with
selenium (see below). Many nutrients work more efficiently when
taken in conjunction with each other, that is why this preparation
is so beneficial.
Copper Glouconate

Copper glouconate is considered to slow cellular aging and reduce
fatigue.
Citrus Bioflavonoids
Is a catalyst which activates the action of vitamin C. Found
naturally in the skin of citrus fruits.
Selenium
and Glutathione
Selenium can help preserve the skin's elasticity by preventing
oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids. It has also been shown
to be protective against cancer and works closely with vitamin
E within the system. Glutathione is an important naturally occurring
sulphur, containing Amino Acid which is readily absorbed. The
overall effect is to help inhibit the process of ageing. Vitamin
A, BETA Carotene BETA-Carotene is a precursor of vitamin A,
(the body converts it into vitamin A when it requires it). This
minimises any risk of excess intake because vitamin A is fat-soluble,
it builds the body's resistance to infection and therefore is
an essential ingredient in any nutritional formula designed
to help stave off any premature ageing or degeneration.

Desiccated liver is one of the recommended good food supplements
that will provide vitamin B, and 60% of this powder is desiccated
liver, added to Barker & Barker Anti-Ox mix.

dose:
Bodyweight less then 10kg - up to 1/2 level teaspoon or 1g once
per day mixed with food
Bodyweight 10kg - 20kg - up to 1 level teaspoon or 2g once per
day mixed with food
Bodyweight greater then 20kg - up to 2 level teaspoons or 4g
once per day mixed with food
